Most of the Western US, South-Central US, and South can anticipate above-average temperatures for May, according to the latest predictions from the weather company. The upper Midwest and Eastern US will see average temperatures, with above-average temperatures for most of the Northeast. Parts of the Southwest including Nevada, Utah, Arizona, southeastern California, New Mexico, and most of Texas, will see significantly above-average temperatures in May.

The upper Midwest, Ohio Valley, mid-Atlantic, and Northeast will see a wintry mix, with heavy snow over parts of Pennsylvania and New York, and snow over northern Michigan.
Thunderstorms for parts of the mid-Atlantic, mid-South, and Southeast from New Jersey to Florida, and inland into Kentucky, Alabama, and Tennessee.
In the West, thunderstorms along the coast of Washington and Oregon, with rain for Northern California. The states will also see a wintry mix expanding into Nevada, Idaho, and Montana parts.
Strong winds over much of the Western US and parts of the upper Midwest, with red flag warnings over several states, including Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota.
Patches of mixed precipitation will stretch from West to East across the northern tier of the US. Heavy snow over portions of Pennsylvania and New York. Thunderstorms in the Midwest from Texas to North Dakota. Critical fire weather is possible over portions of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado.
