Isaias Moves on Leaving Cooler Temperatures Behind, Rain in Northeast

Isaias has moved into southeastern Canada as a post-tropical cyclone, leaving behind cooler temperatures in the Northeast, Rain in the Northeast and a wind advisory for Maine; plus, severe weather alert for central US.

Cooler temperatures for the Northeast

Steered by a cooler air mass, Isaias has pushed into southeastern Canada as a post-tropical cyclone. Isaias will leave behind cooler than normal temperatures on Wednesday with highs only into the upper 70s in many parts of the upper Midwest, Ohio Valley, Mid-South and mid-Atlantic, while temperatures will be in the upper 80s to 90 degrees along the East Coast.

Remnant of Isaias to affect Northeast, Maine wind advisory

Some remnants of Isaias will be felt in northern Ohio, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, bringing rain and thunderstorms. There is a wind advisory for northern Maine through early Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Caribou, Maine tweeted: “We are seeing numerous reports of Gusty Winds 35-45mph within Showers & behind the precipitation. We could see gusts as high as 50mph. This may cause downed trees on power lines.”

Severe weather warning for parts of West, upper Midwest

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for portions of the West and upper Midwest on Wednesday. Heavy rain and severe weather is possible for northeastern Colorado, southeastern Wyoming, Southwestern Nebraska and Northwestern Kansas.
