Flood watch: Southeastern Kansas; southwestern Missouri, northeastern Oklahoma; northwest Arkansas.

Red flag alert: Northern, central, and southern New Mexico; northern and western Texas.

Fire weather watch for portions of Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico.

Wind advisories for portions of Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, Nevada, and Texas.

The 3 day forecast: Multiple rounds of severe weather

The Weather Channel reported that multiple rounds of severe thunderstorms and heavy rains are expected for parts of the Plains, Midwest, and South well into the week ahead. Destructive straight-line winds, large hail, flash flooding, and potential tornadoes are among the threats in the week ahead.

Here’s a look ahead at the weather over the next three days according to the latest forecasts by the National Weather Service (NWS).

Monday: Severe weather, flooding, fire risk

Heavy snow over portions of Oregon and Idaho. A wintry mix over parts of Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, South Dakota, and Nebraska.

Critical fire weather is possible over much of New Mexico into western and northern Texas.

The threat of severe weather will stretch from Eastern Texas over most of Oklahoma into southern and eastern Kansas, southern Missouri, and northern Arkansas.

Risk of flash flooding for central and southern Missouri, Eastern Kansas, central and eastern Oklahoma, and northwestern Arkansas.

Scattered thunderstorms over the central US, upper Midwest, Ohio Valley, mid-South, South, and Southeast.

Tuesday: Severe weather, fire risk

Snow is possible over parts of southwestern Montana, Eastern Idaho, Western Wyoming, and Northeastern Utah.

Scattered thunderstorms over the southern plains, south, and Southeast, into the mid-South, Ohio Valley, and mid-Atlantic.

A risk of severe weather over northern Kentucky, southern Indiana, and southern Ohio.

Critical fire weather is possible over parts of Northeastern Arizona, most of New Mexico, and southern Colorado.

Rain over the northern Great Lakes area into parts of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

Wednesday: Severe weather, flash flooding

Thunderstorms through the central US into parts of the mid-South, and Southeast.

Risk of severe weather stretches from central and northern Texas over most of Oklahoma, into northwestern Arkansas, southern and southeastern Kansas, and southwestern Missouri.

Potential flash flooding over much of Oklahoma, Eastern Kansas, northwestern Arkansas, and western Missouri.
