Some of the coldest temperatures of the year as snow stretches across the US from Washington to Maine on Wednesday. Farther south, an ice storm will stretch from Texas to Virginia, while the Deep South will see thunderstorms.
Winter is in full swing bringing some of the coldest temperatures of the year thus far. According to the forecast by the National Weather Service (NWS) snowstorms will stretch across the entirety of the United States on Wednesday. The snow will be mostly over the northern tier, stretching from Washington to Maine. The line of storms will dip southward around the nation’s midsection, dumping snow across the Midwest and into the Ohio Valley, spanning into the mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
States that could see snow on Wednesday: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania,, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
The National Weather Service (NWS) is warning of potential freezing rain that will stretch from Texas to Delaware on Wednesday.
The NWS has issued an ice storm warning for the following states: Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and Delaware.
The southern US will see thunderstorms and rain on Wednesday. Thunderstorms are forecast for portions of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, the Florida Panhandle in northern Florida. Farther north, rain is forecast for portions of South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia.
