Snow Moves into Northeastern US Today and More Weather News


Several areas of the northeastern US will see snow and a wintry mix move in quickly today, plus more of today’s weather news and your forecast.

Fast-moving storm to bring snow and a wintry mix to the northeastern US

A small and fast-moving storm will start off as rain, transition to a wintry mix, and then into snow by the afternoon across the northeastern US.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for portions of Virginia and Washington, D.C.

The snow is inspected to impact portions of Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Massachusetts, most of Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Snow is also in the forecast for most of North Dakota, Northern South Dakota, in the northern portions of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

Snow forecast for the western US

Snow is forecast for Western and Northern Montana, central Colorado, northern and western Wyoming, and eastern Idaho.

A wintry mix is anticipated for much of Washington, all of Oregon, most of Idaho, Western Montana, central and northern Nevada, Northern California, and areas along the northern California-Nevada border.

Rain and thunderstorm forecast

Rain and thunderstorms are in the forecast for southern Oklahoma; central Texas near Odessa, southern and eastern Texas, including along the Gulf; coastal areas along Oregon, Washington, and Northern California; in Florida along the central East Coast, and southern areas around Miami and farther south.
