Much of the nation will enjoy sunny skies but cool temperatures on Wednesday, while snow will fall over portions of the Midwest and Southwest, northern Michigan and Maine, with thunderstorms over Texas and Louisiana.

Snow: Snow for portions of the West, Southwest, and south-central US, and for the extreme upper Midwest and Northwest.
Rain: eastern Oklahoma; eastern Kansas; western and southern Missouri; Arkansas; western Tennessee; eastern Texas; Louisiana; Mississippi.
Mixed precipitation: eastern Kansas; central and southern Missouri; central Oklahoma; Texas Panhandle; northern Arkansas; eastern West Virginia; central and northern Pennsylvania; New York; western Massachusetts; Vermont; central and northern New Hampshire; western Maine.
Thunderstorms: southeastern Texas and Louisiana.
