Sunny for Much of the Nation but Wide Pockets of Snow in West and East

A large stretch of the West, Southwest, central US, plains, and the South will see abundant sunshine on Tuesday, while wide pockets of snow will fall in parts of the West, Ohio Valley, and the East; plus, today’s national forecast.

Today’s US weather overview for Tuesday

Sunny: Most of the West, Southwest, Southern and Central Plains, as well as the South will enjoy abundant sunshine for Tuesday, including the southern areas of Texas, and the southern region of the Ohio Valley.

Partly cloudy: It will be partly cloudy in the Northwest, Northern Rockies, central Texas, and the Western region of the Ohio Valley, as well as in the South over Atlanta.

Windy: Over the Dakotas.

Rain: Rain for portions of Montana and Wyoming, as well as parts of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast

Snow: Over portions of the Northwest, northern and southern Rockies, as well as into portions of the southern plains, into the upper Midwest and Ohio Valley, over parts of the Tennessee Valley and Southeast, and mid-Atlantic.

Wintry mix: Mixed precipitation for portions of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast to include Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

West: Colorado and New Mexico.

Midwest/Southern Plains: Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas Panhandle.

Upper Midwest/Ohio Valley: Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.

South/Southeast: Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina.

Mid Atlantic/Northeast: New York and Pennsylvania.
