Severe weather threat on 3 separate fronts

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued severe thunderstorm warnings in three separate geographic locations on Friday. These areas have a Level-3 enhanced risk of severe weather which is defined as widespread, numerous severe storms possible, likely wind damage, 1-2 hail, in the possibility of several tornadoes.

The first area of severe weather is over Northeastern Colorado, western and southwestern Nebraska, and North Eastern Kansas.

The second severe weather front extends from the Mexican border with southwestern and central Texas extending portions of the Panhandle, central plans, Hill Country, and North Texas, through most of Oklahoma, into Northwestern Arkansas, southeastern Kansas, and southwestern Missouri.

The third area of severe weather is over portions of the Ohio Valley, mid-Atlantic and Northeast affecting portions of Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire.

Flooding risk on 2 fronts

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a warning for the risk of flash flooding on two separate fronts for Friday.

The first area with the potential for heavy rain and flash flooding is a large swath over South and Central Texas and along the Texas Gulf Coast, extending eastward over Louisiana and Mississippi. Areas of Louisiana experienced flooding on Thursday night requiring swift water rescue boats being deployed.

The second area the NWS is warning of the potential for flash flooding is over northern Texas extending into central and Eastern Oklahoma, along the western border of Arkansas, and along the southeastern border and southeast corner of Kansas.
